Training for Cyber Defense: Why Is It Crucial?

In order to remain as good as we can, we need to permanently undertake various trainings and practices. The field of cyber security can in fact be compared to medicine – there is always a need to learn and practice new procedures as the field evolves incredibly fast.

At Binary Confidence, professional cybersecurity guards spend at least 20% of their working time on various trainings. We all understand the necessity of them, because only in this way can we keep an eye on potential attackers and threats. However, we do the same for our clients – we offer them special trainings.

CDC – our‎‎‎‎ ‎Cyber Defense Center‎ is equipped with technology that is needed to model various cyber defense scenarios. It provides a large testing environment which we use for our very own SEC Point Academy. The environment we use is modifiable because the requirements vary from client to client and it was built for Locked Shield trainings (used in NATO War Game). The virtual environment is built based on client´s real IT security structure so the outcome for employees is as authentic as possible .

The preparation takes 2 – 3 days and the training in SEC Point Academy lasts max. 8 hours and is structured to present different types of attacks (generic, collaborative, APT, backdoor, phishing or malware) that were pre-planned in the training scenario. Four teams with different tasks will be created and a consultant is also available. After the training, an evaluation will be carried out with a detailed report for the client on what worked well, what did not work, and what should be improved. Results may vary, so it is recommended that clients' employees repeat the training within the next 6 to 12 months. If you are interested in taking our training at SEC Point Academy, do not hesitate to contact us and we will answer all your questions.
